Skill Requirements:
Education: Some high school
Experience: Experience in brake shoe relining an asset. Experience working in metal product manufacturing required
Languages: English

Type of Equipment: Wheelabrator, Deburrer, Shotblaster, Hoist, Lifting device, Hand truck, Dolly, Hand tools, Rivet machine, Drill press, flywheel resurfacer, grinder, air-tools

Specific Skills: Operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale and other materials from surfaces of metal products, Immerse metal products in cleaning solutions, Transport raw materials and finished metal products, Sort metal sheets and parts, scrap metal and other materials, Clean work areas and equipment, Load and unload vehicles, Grind or chip excess metal from metal products, Resurface metal products & machine metal products as required
Specific Duties:
1. Receive worn-out brake drums to be repaired
2. Clean, strip and reline brake shoes
3. Change and machine brake drums
4. Reline custom band brakes
5. Change and machine brake rotors
6. Machine flywheels.
7. Deliver repaired brake drums to the store for storage
8. Ensure compliance to the published company Health and Safety Policies
9. Ensure compliance to the published Shop Policies
10. Clean and maintain shop facilities and equipment
11. Ensure equipment, tools and work areas are organized at all stages of the relining process and ensure its safekeeping at the end of the shift
Own Tools/Equipment: Tools, Steel-toed safety boots
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Standing for extended periods
Work Site Environment: Dusty, Hot
