Duties:
- Follow blueprints and construction plans for specification to meet the material requirements.
- Measure, shape, cut, and join wood, plastic, drywall, steel or any other materials using tools , such as hand tools, machines, or power saw as needed.
- Install structures such as door, window, moulding, hardware, any other frame or cabinet works. May build, install and repair modular furniture, such as cabinets, floor, or any other wooden fixtures including stairs.
- Prepare layouts using measuring tools.
- Estimate product and installation costs and order materials needed.
- Assist, supervise and direct other workers.
- Arrange for subcontractors for special areas, such as heating and electrical wiring work.
- May perform minor plumbing or concrete mixing work
- Assemble structures above ground level such as ceiling and the roof using ladder
- Finish surfaces of woodwork and wallboard in houses using sand, paint, hand tools, and paneling.
