The Child and Youth Worker (CYW) functions as a valuable member of the interdisciplinary team and provides care to children and youth with complex mental health issues. Solid knowledge and skills include but are not limited to: mental status examination, crisis management, establishment of effective therapeutic relationships, utilization of developmentally appropriate approaches, and implementation and evaluation of various therapeutic interventions. The CYW offers support, education, and coaching to patients and families.
