Role Summary
The Strategic Purchasing & Supply Disruption Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the implementation of key strategic projects and supporting the resolution process of critical component shortages with main focus on Electronics.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the coordination of projects defined by the Director of Purchasing as critical to the success of achieving the Business Plan or Strategic objectives.
  • Monitor critical supply disruptions across the divisions.
  • Ensure that a proper escalation of supply disruption to the Global Commodity team has been executed via the right channels.
  • Host regular shortage review meetings with Divisional Purchasing and Material leads in the region, tracking status and escalating where necessary to Regional Director and/or Global Commodity team where appropriate.
  • Working with Divisional Staff, vendor(s), and tier2 suppliers where necessary to trouble-shoot potential shortages and resolve risks proactively.
  • Work with Global Commodity team and Division to resolve any commercial aspects of shortage resolutions.
  • Identifying lowest cost solutions while ensuring supply continuity.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
? Post-secondary Degree/Diploma in a related field or 10 years industrial purchasing experience
? Minimum 5 years related experience
? Supply chain management accreditation preferred
? Supervisory experience preferred
? Automotive industry background
