Position : Senior Manager - Sourcing

Reporting : Director - Sourcing

Job Description

  • In partnership with merchant, design, product development teams, execute sourcing strategies aligned to company vision.
  • Identify and establish a vendor network that meets needs of assigned categories; Ability to validate vendors technical capabilities.
  • Support cross functional teams in development of product to ensure they meet design vision and margin/cost parameters established by merchant teams
  • Lead the team to negotiate product cost across vendors, ensuring target price and margin are achieved
  • Develop visual/concept product briefs to share out to vendors as required
  • Actively network within the fashion industry, while building supplier and agent relationships
  • Responsible for ensuring technical manufacturing guidance and training to sourcing & cross functional teams.
  • Collaborate with cross functional team merchant team to communicate revisions to ex-factory delivery schedule
  • Partner with QA team to ensure product integrity by troubleshooting any testing exception reports
  • Facilitate daily/weekly sourcing update meetings with cross functional teams to ensure all relevant partners are aware of work in process status
  • Participate in proto sample review with cross functional teams to ensure samples adheres to company expectation.
  • Monitor new industry trends styles/techniques allowing us to bring appropriate innovations and vendor resources.
  • Challenge the status quo and consistently identify areas for improvement, diagnose issues and provide resolution.
  • Collaborate with others to drive flexible and iterative solutions, quickly and easily
  • Help others see the impacts of their efforts and proactively engage other functions to get input
  • Accountable for the overall engagement, productivity and strength of the team; conduct performance team training and assessment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Travel required as needed

Qualification & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 10+ years' product development and sourcing experience in a retail environment
  • Previous experience in sourcing and product development of apparel products across global markets required
  • Strong knowledge of apparel manufacturing & processes
  • Previous experience negotiating product cost
  • Thorough understanding of brand pricing strategy, margin expectations and SKU Plans
  • In-depth knowledge of product sourcing, production and product development processes
  • Intermediate skills in Web PDM, Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of design spec package
  • Proven organizational capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to negotiate effectively with external vendor partners
  • Strong knowledge of apparel manufacturing & processes
