-Reports directly to Senior Nursery Manager
-Plan, control and organize designated operations of the nursery and greenhouses
-Identify and control insect, disease and weed problems
-Develop marketing plans
-Provide information to customers on gardening and on the care of trees, shrubs, flowers, plants and lawns
-Order materials such as fertilizers, garden and lawn care equipment and other nursery and greenhouse related accessories
-Hire, manage, train and mentor designated subordinate staff
-Allocate staff to perform daily tasks so that the most suitable staff is assigned the tasks best suited to their abilities
-Train staff in safety procedures as required for each different job being performed
-Ensure that all work performed by designated staff members is done in a neat, orderly fashion, yard work area clean and free of debris, all tools and equipment cleaned up
-Organize and inform management of any product shortages
-Liaison between staff members and management staff
-Check sections for weeding and watering needs
-Pull orders as per the Pulling List – must be able to identify different plant species
-Tag plants for orders where needed
