Main functions: 
The student will work with other summer support staff and existing agency staff to coordinate, plan, organize and supervise various special event activities and programs. The student will be responsible to oversee special events including Kids 'N' Kops graduation, summer BBQ event and the annual fund-raising book sale throughout the summer months in consultation with agency staff. This particular job will focus on the planning and implementation of agency special events.

Detailed description: 
-attend training and orientation sessions as provided by the Executive Director or other
agency staff
-research existing community resources for ideas for special events
-provide information to potential volunteers, clients and families
-plan, organize and implement various events and activities over the summer including Kids ‘N’ Kops graduation, annual BIG Book Sale, summer BBQ, etc.
-promote agency events and activities through various means
-perform daily pick up of book donations, sort, box and label for the sale.
-manage volunteers for the Book Sale prep and actual event
-provide regular reports to Executive Director, or special reports as requested
-maintain strict confidentiality as outlined in agency Privacy and Confidentiality Policy
-ensure all clients and volunteers are informed of any pertinent agency information with regards to special events
-perform administrative functions as required
-liaise with other youth service agencies, community groups, clubs or the general public as required
-remain aware of federal and provincial privacy and Child Protection legislation and the agency’s privacy policies and practices
-report suspected cases of child abuse and neglect as per agency policy
-to perform all related job duties as requested by the Executive Director or designate

Applicants must: a) be between 15 and 30 at the start of employment b) registered as a full-time student during the preceding academic year c) intend to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year d) be a student in a secondary, post-secondary, vocational or technical program e) be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act f) legally entitled to work according to relevant NB legislation and regulations
