The Child Safety Program Coordinator will work with the Executive Director and Mentoring Coordinators to review and further develop the agency’s “Strong from the Start” Child Safety Program. The “Strong from the Start” program has been developed by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada and passed on to local agencies. The resources will be further developed and structured as a program to be delivered to clients of other youth serving agencies.
The “Strong from the Start” Child Safety Program is a key foundational component to fostering safe, enjoyable, meaningful, and healthy mentoring relationships. One of Big Brothers Big Sister’s core values is to maintain the highest standards of practice in order to deliver safe, quality mentoring programs to children and youth. Strong from the Start focuses on healthy relationships, with a key component being child safety. Our goal is to share the core components of this valuable resource with the communities we serve.
The Child Safety Program Coordinator will:
A. Review, further develop and assist with the delivery of the “Strong from the Start” Child Safety Program that is provided to all children, youth, volunteers and parents involved with BBBS.
B. Coordinate, plan, organize and facilitate this program for children, youth, parents and volunteers of other youth serving agencies.
