Cleans, maintains and makes minor repairs to garden centre facilities. Has basic knowledge in problem solving, maintenance and repair of the following:
• Automatic irrigation systems
• Plumbing
• Electrical
• Carpentry
• Mechanics
• Heating and ventilation
Other Responsibilities:
• Operate various types of equipment necessary in the day to day operations of a garden centre, Forklift, Front end loader, 5 ton dump truck with crane operation, and various delivery and installation trucks.
• Receive and unload product such as nursery stock, skidded product, etc., operating proper equipment.
• Price and stock inventory as required.
• Assist with proper merchandising procedures.
• Performs other related work as assigned
• Ability to provide work direction and training to other staff where necessary
• Demonstrates ability to accurately follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to deal courteously with customers and fellow staff.
