Working Hours – The Client’s normal working hours are 7.25 hours per day, between 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (excluding lunch breaks), Monday to Friday inclusive.

CLIENT’S REQUIREMENTS
Provide input into the database design for the modernized CAD that meets business need including security, transactional performance, redundancy
Provide input into the design of the new reporting service. Work with the project team to finalize database model, schema that meet business needs
Work closely with the project team to plan out deliverables, identify dependencies for the database deliverables and implement the database deliverables
Design and implement enhancements to the current reporting solution through a combination of Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes and tools specific to DBA skills.
Rewriting and optimizing the ETL scripts to accommodate numerous standard and ad-hoc reporting requirements.
Create scripts, stored procedures and utilities to support the deployment of enhancements to the current CAD
Testing and identifying multiple elements affecting databases for quality control purposes.
Providing analysis and recommendations leading to the implementation of enhancements to existing databases to meet performance and scalability requirements
Develop, contribute and/or validate documentation on data base design and administration
Validate system and process documentation as required
Provide support to other DBAs within the unit
Technical Skills:
Senior level experience in database administration
Senior level experience with one or more database technologies
Senior level experience with database design
Senior level experience in the use of information retrieval packages and demonstrated proficiency with query languages
Senior level experience in monitoring and enforcing database rules
Experience with one or more operating systems
Experience in one or more programming languages Experience with one or more communications protocols
Experience in Incident, Change and Configuration Management procedures
DBA Specific Technical Skills:
System Analysis and Database Design Skills – 3-5 years of experience with creating data flow diagrams, entity relationship modeling and techniques; advance knowledge of database normalization theory, STAR schema theory; data warehouse principles and cubes design
Data Security skills – working knowledge of information security principles, techniques and tools
Database Programing – 5+ years of experience in database development using SQL, SQL Plus, Stored Procedures, transitional databases
5 + year experience in Database Administration; maintenance, optimization and fine tuning of databases; experience with Storage, Backup and Recovery – loading and exporting the large amount of data
Familiar with Cognos and Crystal Reports reporting tools
Awareness of emerging IT trends and directions
Knowledge and understanding of Enterprise Content Management
Knowledge and experience with Business Intelligence (BI) tools and methodologies
Experienced with Extract, Load and Transform processes and technologies
Knowledge of MS SQL Server 2005, 2008 and 2012 - maintenance, setup, configuration, deployment, troubleshooting
Knowledge building, troubleshooting and maintaining SQL query scripts
Experience with deployment and maintenance of distributed data warehouse environments and associated reporting tools
