Main functions: 
Reporting to the Manager Employment Services and Academic Upgrading, Northern College the Employment Services Coordinator has the lead responsibility in the administration and delivery of the full suite of Employment Services including the SJS program, offered within the Employment Options Emploi program, funded by Employment Ontario and the Ministry of Community and Social Services and Cochrane District Social Administration Board. The incumbent is responsible for the overall day-to-day activities at the Centre and in the communities of the region, including the Community Learning Centres. This will include participant and employer recruitment, intake and assessment, career advising, job development, training plan development, workshop delivery, marketing, matching and placement of participants, monitoring of activities, file documentation and statistical collection and reporting. The Employment Services Coordinator has the lead responsibility in the management and Ministry reporting of the Client Activity Tracking System (CATS), the CaMS system, and the Employment Support Management System (ESMA).

The incumbent will be required to backfill and/or replace in all positions within the Employment Options Emploi program.
The incumbent is also the Service Provider Registration Authority for TCU’s Employment Ontario Information System – Case Management System (EOIS-CaMS).

• three-year college diploma or a degree in Human Services or related field
• five years of practical experience which includes career guidance, employment workshop delivery, job placement and working with statistical data as it pertains to employment programs and services.
• must possess a valid driver’s licence and have access to a vehicle.
• effective communication and interpersonal skills, teamwork skills, tact and diplomacy, problem solving skills, solution finder, statistical abilities and well developed computer skills.
Language:
• proficiency in both English and French, verbal and written, is required.
Proof of valid WHMIS/WHMIS Review card is a requirement for employment with Northern College.
