Main functions: 
The Associate Engineer, (process development -chocolate) is a technical role within the NA confectionary R&D group. The main responsibilities of the role are to bring technical expertise and know-how to the development of chocolate products for North America. This includes process and margin development projects and support to the Gladstone (Toronto, Canada) plant.

The Associate Engineer will work with plant engineers, supply chain analysts and external manufacturers to develop products and bring them to commercialization.

The Associate Engineer will:
- Develop and commercialize processes for the development of NA chocolate products
- Lead initiatives needed to drive growth, productivity and quality for the NA region through partnership with product development, plant engineering and packaging development.
- Guide, develop and commercialize from concept through commercialization the programs needed to meet and/or exceed gross/net productivity goals for NA chocolate
- Apply knowledge of engineering principles to develop and improve chocolate processes and formulations
- Support Commercialization, Qualification (capitalization qualifications) and Verification of Capital installations
- Communicate effectively with cross functional partners across the supply chain and confections business teams
- Partner with Chocolate Centre of Excellence and global Process Engineering teams to implement best practices

Qualifications required: 
-Strong technical skills (process and product/reaction processes) and knowledge
-Strong influencing/communication and team work skills-will be part of a team of process developers.
-Good understanding of food manufacturing (experience in food manufacturing industry a strong asset)
-Manufacturing/plant experience is also a strong asset (understanding of plant manufacturing processes)
-2-3 years of experience in process engineering
-Experience and good understanding using engineering principals and processes as well as various tools, measures and equipment in the plant.
-Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field (chemical, process or physics)
