Interior Health is seeking an experienced and dynamic Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) to join our Mental Health & Substance Use (MHSU) team at McKim Cottage in beautiful Nelson, B.C.

Effective April 1, 2024, the hourly wage will be $41.42 to $55.91.
About the Job:
The Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse provides:
? Nursing care to psychiatric patients, both by working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team
? Enhances quality of life for the patient and family; consults, confers, and collaborates with other health care providers
? Demonstrates continuous improvement and evidence based practice in nursing practice
? Maintains and advances own clinical competence
? Participates on designated hospital committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned
We are looking for a self-directed, motivated, reliable and flexible mental health-trained nurse (RN/RPN) who enjoys working in a team environment and has a strong desire to learn. If you are experienced in Mental Health or Substance Use, we want to hear from you!
This is a CASUAL OPPORTUNITY. Casual means hours are not guaranteed and may vary and shifts may be at short notice. Casual employees are eligible to apply for internal postings including permanent and temporary positions. Shifts of work are days, with shift times of 08:00 to 14:16, 08:00 to 14:16, 08:00 to 14:16, 08:00 to 14:16, 08:00 to 14:16.
About this location/unit:
Nelson: Located in Nelson, B.C. McKim Cottage provides many services including adult community support, adult short-term assessment and treatment, community residential programs, geriatric programs, crisis intervention, day and outpatient programs, addictions counselling, concurrent disorders services, group therapy, peer support, and after-hours mental health support.

Qualfications
? Graduation from an approved school of nursing and two years' recent related experience in a mental health and substance use environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
? Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
