This position is primarily responsible for the planning, fabrication and manufacture of extremely complex dies, models and gauges.
- Analyzes machining needs and determines the analytical procedure.
- Performs all equipment and mold configurations using knowledge of machine shop practices and procedures.
- Performs complex machining using horizontal lathes, vertical milling machines and surface grinders.
- Inspects dies to ensure they conform to established specifications.
- Configures and sharpens drills, tool bits and cutters.
- Uses a variety of precision inspection equipment.
- Plans the repair or modification of complex molds and repairs or modifies as required.
- Repairs damaged dies, gauges and luminaires according to production demands.
- Tracks tool work order requests in accordance with technical instructions.
- Manufactures fixtures and tools from raw sketches.
- Keep records, drawings or other documents as required.
- Maintains the work area in a clean, orderly and safe condition
- Performs precise machining operations on certain castings that cannot be machined by other departments.
- Four years of experience with horizontal lathes, vertical milling machines and surface grinders. More than five years of experience required for satisfactory professional competence.

Salary Range: $24.21 to $35.02 per hour
