INVENTORY CONTROL CLERK /
RECEIVING SUPERVISOR

General Position Description
Keep count of products and supplies, ensure that company inventory remains balanced, restock supplies, assist in maintaining inventory records, and provide assistance to co-workers as necessary.

Description détaillée: 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of an Inventory Clerk
• Count company inventory for official company records.
• Maintain logs of products and supplies.
• Check actual company inventory against previous count sheets.
• Order and expedite with Purchasing, stock any missing items for BOMs.
• Report any discrepancies in inventory records to Manager and or Purchasing Coordinator.
• Receive shop deliveries.
• Assist in unloading inventory from delivery truck.
• Organize inventory in stock room.
• Distribute inventory to jobs on the production floor.
• File all delivery and inventory receipts.
• Use inventory software to keep track of orders, returns, and supply.
• Write up inventory reports detailing any overstock or missing items.
• Present inventory reports at meetings.
• Ensure that stockroom is clean and well organized.
• Move and restructure stockroom to make space for new inventory.
• Assist in cleaning and organization of the stockroom upon closing.
• Pull any defective or expired merchandise for return.
• Pack up items for return and create shipping labels.
• Submit orders for replenishment of inventory.
• Retrieve products from stockroom for shop floor team members.
• Review shipping and receiving documents for accuracy.
• Assist manufacturing in locating items.
• Assist shop supervisor and purchasing manager in devising new ways to reduce shrink and maintain inventory control.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

The successful applicant needs to:
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills.
• Pay close attention to detail.
• Possess physical strength necessary to lift boxes and other heavy items on a regular basis.
• Be capable of using computer inventory software (preference for those with a background in Simply Accounting or Microsoft NAV).
• Have familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Be capable of booking and dealing with a variety of couriers and freight forwarders.
• Exhibit ability to read and interpret inventory reports, sales reports, and packing slips.
• Demonstrate strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Work well with a team.
• Manage time efficiently.
• Possess broad knowledge of the range of plant products and services.
• Be capable of employing basic math skills.
• Communicate clearly and effectively.
• Demonstrate professional and polite demeanor with customers.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in manufacturing sector is preferred.

Work Environment

• Working hours are split between the shipping receiving office/stockroom and the plant floor.
• Additional time may be spent in the shipping office processing paperwork and using computerized inventory software.
• Physical labour, specifically the lifting of heavy items and deliveries, is required on a daily basis.

We are looking for a committed, hard-working individual with the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment. Initial training will be provided for this position.
