ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

You will be working with a large team of expropriation and municipal law professionals who have been working in this field for decades. Many of the lawyers on the team have been recognized but reputable publications and have won numerous awards for their distinguished service. ABOUT THE POSITION

We're looking for an Municipal Lawyer with at least 4 years of experience. The ideal candidates comes with demonstrated strengths in client relationship management, highly organized, ability to manage files independently, and the ability to collaborate with other lawyers and be a team player. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with some of the best lawyers in Ontario and have the opportunity to do top-tier work.

Duties include:

  • Representing a broad range of public and private clients, including but not limited to municipalities, residential, commercial, and industrial interests, assist with obtaining or responding to applications and appeals respecting developmental approvals
  • Planning policy matters, legal opinions, and court applications dealing with a wide variety of municipal law issues
  • Provide strategic advice on land use planning and developmental issues; negotiate and draft various land development agreements

THE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in municipal law
  • Demonstrated history of managing an active caseload while mentoring and supervising others (staff or junior associates)
  • Demonstrated strength in client relationship management and client development
  • Strong law school academics
  • Professional with outstanding analytical ability, sound judgment, and excellent communication skills
  • Licensed in Ontario
