Job Summary

We provide an inclusive camp experience where camp personnel will be required to work with participants with different needs including children with disabilities, children with behaviour challenges, newcomers, and language barriers. You will make a difference in your community and will leave a lasting impression on the children and youth who attend the camps.

  • Frank McKechnie CC (Bristol Road & Kennedy Road)
  • Huron Park RC (Mavis Road & Paisley Boulevard)
  • Malton CC (Derry Road & Goreway Drive)
  • Meadowvale CC (Glen Erin Drive & Battleford Road)
  • Mississauga Valley CC (Hurontario Street & Burnhamthorpe Road)
  • Paramount Fine Foods Centre (Eglinton Avenue & Matheson Boulevard)

Employees can be assigned to any location within Mississauga or re-deployed to various locations, shifts and/or assigned a variety of job responsibilities on a day-to-day basis.

Minimum Job Requirements
  • The successful candidate must possess a valid Emergency First Aid and CPR B or Standard First Aid and CPR C (Lifesaving Society, Canadian Red Cross Society, St. John's Ambulance or the Canadian Ski Patrol) certification (must be recognized by WSIB) by your start date (June 1, 2024). The award must be current during the employment period.
  • The successful candidate must possess a valid HIGH FIVE ® Principles of Healthy Child Development certification by your start date (June 1, 2024).
  • Previous experience working with children an asset.
  • A Level 3 - Vulnerable Sector Check will be required of the successful candidate, as a condition of employment, at their own expense, to verify the absence of a criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted.
Additional Information

Hourly Rate:

  • The duties and responsibilities of the Camp positions are reflected in the hourly rate of pay range of $17.70 - $24.85 dependent on the specific position.
  • Staff will be paid minimum wage on an hourly basis for attending required trainings or meetings.

Summer Camps will run from July 2 - August 30, 2024.
Supervisory Staff Training will be held prior to the start of camps.
*Training Dates are mandatory as part of your employment*

Summer:

  • Camp Senior Staff and Camp Coordinator training will take place May 2024.
  • Camp Site Leader training will take place June 2024.
  • Camp Senior Staff and Camp Coordinator contracts will be from the end of May to August 30th.


Please note: Full-time hours are not guaranteed. Hours are dependent on sufficient program registration.
