1 Full time permanent Microbiology Technician- Media Technician (NOC 2221) position available at Deibel Laboratories of Canada in the food testing laboratory, located at 2053 Williams Parkway East, Suite 36, Brampton, Ontario, Canada L6S 5T4
Deibel Laboratories of Canada, a Food Microbiology Laboratory, is seeking a motivated and hardworking individual with a ‘can do’ attitude to make daily media for lab use and testing.
Main duties and capabilities include the following:
Make media for the laboratory to use in daily testing
Candidate must follow the SOP
Wash/sterilize all dishes and tools used in the preparation and testing process according to company sanitation procedures
Check volume and pH of media; and record all information implementing superior documentation practices on assigned forms
Use collected data to prepare daily reports of findings
Accurately following recipes provided
Must work with autoclaves, peristaltic pump, pH meter, and scale throughout the day
Must actively implement health and safety practices such as routine cleanliness practices and checks, as well as discards throughout the week
Must be able to multitask and work efficiently in an independent manner
Must be able to communicate effectively with upper management and laboratory staff
Must be able to lift 50lbs or more
Requirements:
Diploma in industrial microbiology or a related field of study
1 year of experience working as a technician in a food laboratory or microbiology testing facility
Compensation:
$22 hourly for 42.5 hours weekly (Tuesday-Saturday, 9AM-5:30PM)
