Supervisor - Marine Terminal

SUPERVISOR: NO ROUTINE, EVERY DAY

CHALLENGE - ACTION - LEADERSHIP - OUTSIDE WORK

The Supervisor is a full member of the marine terminal management team. He is responsible for managing the loading and unloading operations of the vessels, while supervising the handling of our customers' cargo.

ON THE DAILY YOU WILL:

  • Plan the needs in manpower, lifting equipment and heavy machinery (forklifts, wheel loaders, etc.) required for the operations as per the established sequence;
  • Assign tasks and oversee a team of approximately twenty longshoremen (day labourers and machine operators);
  • Coordinate operations and promote teamwork to promote mutual aid and quality service;
  • Enforce standard operating procedures as well as health, safety and environmental standards;
  • Monitor operational performance indicators using advanced technology.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

You thrive on challenges and action and are recognized for your mobilizing leadership. You excel in a non-routine work environment and have a strong interest in outdoor work, as well as having the following qualifications:

  • Possess a practical sense and are result-oriented;
  • Enjoy working with heavy machinery and equipment;
  • Are conscientious of the work quality and of customer satisfaction;
  • Are available to work on rotating schedules, mostly days, evenings and weekends - but can include some night shifts;
  • Can communicate in both French and English, and can understand written English.
