Accounts Receivable Clerk

Main functions: 
Groupe Ostiguy & Gendron is looking to fill the position of an accounts receivable clerk, reporting to the Director of Finance, to participate in the receivables cycle by ensuring the accuracy and follow-up of receivables. In addition, the clerk is expected to support his/her manager and team in achieving the department's objectives.

Specific job responsibilities :
  • Record various cash receipts;
  • Follow-up on customer payments;
  • Initiate collection procedures for accounts in arrears and follow up with the collection agency;
  • Answer questions from internal and external customers;
  • Communicate with appropriate parties regarding cash discrepancies;
  • Produce customer balance analyses and make collection recommendations;
  • Reconcile commissions receivable from insurers, investigate and resolve discrepancies;
  • Review and justify balances receivable from insurers, investigate and document discrepancies as required;
  • Responsible for finance box;
  • Support team for various requests;
  • Participate in month-end process;
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the department manager.

Skills and qualifications required :
  • Have a AEC / DEC / Technical diploma in accounting;
  • Good understanding of accounting cycles;
  • Good command of Excel and the Microsoft Office suite;
  • At least 2 years' relevant experience;
  • Good command of spoken and written French and English.
