Tasks:
• Handling and overseeing media relations for Indie Montreal’s provincial media relations clients and concerts
• Supervising at least one media relations intern
• Helping to develop, grow and acquire clients for Indie Montreal’s media relations offerings and helping to maintain client relationships
• Managing Indie Montreal’s media relationships
• Drafting and disseminating press releases
• Updating and Organizing Indie Montreal’s press list
• Updating and pitching members of the media on Indie Montreal’s shows and activities
• Updating and pitching members of the media on the shows, releases and activities of Indie Montreal’s media relations clients
• Coordinating media activities like interviews, contests, album reviews and concert previews
• Involvement in Indie Montreal’s social media strategy
• Implementing media strategy in conjunction with supervisor
• Involvement on-site at events

Detailed description: 
Indie Montreal is hiring a regional publicist! Applicants must be highly motivated and enthusiastic, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a music publicist. The worker will be immersed in various aspects of the live show and music promotions industry for an established Canadian music company. Because Indie Montreal is a small business, the publicist will complete valued tasks on the company’s front lines. The chosen person will work on daily duties, medium-term and long-term projects, supervised by the Director of Indie Montreal. He or she will also be required on-site for events.

Assets – Skills, Training & Interests:
• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in music media relations (those not satisfying this requirement need not apply)
• A completed degree in media relations an asset
• Other music-related professional experience an asset
• Social personality and very good interpersonal skills
• Intimate knowledge of Quebec’s media networks
• Knowledge of other Eastern Canadian media networks an asset
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
• Knowledge of Google Docs and Google Calendar
• High proficiency with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other Social Media Websites
• Very Organized with keen attention to detail
• Good communicator
• Experience managing a team of people and other leadership experience an asset
• Ability to draft professional and effective press releases
• Complete bilingualism (English & French) required
