Main functions: 

The Opportunity

Responsible for welding and fabricating various heavy equipment (Excavators, Wheel Loaders, Feller Bunchers, skidders, Cranes, Forklifts, and other machinery/ machinery components.

The Role

  • Weld and fabricate a variety of heavy equipment (e.g., cranes and forklifts) and machinery components.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment.
  • Perform welding repairs on equipment, as necessary.
  • Fabricates brackets, mounts, and piping.
  • Welds and repairs customer units as required.
  • Read and understand production drawings, blueprints, work orders and other written instructions.
  • Cleans and performs minor repairs on welding equipment.
  • Participate in all required Health & Safety Training.
  • Comply with the Health & Safety program and practices.
  • Performance of daily duties in a manner conducive to a safe workplace.
  • Comply with Wajax policies and procedures.
  • Meet requirements of Job Hazard assessments.
  • Maintain all required certifications.
  • Hydraulic and mechanical experience an asset

The Candidate

  • Education: Welding Technician Certification, certified with Canadian Welders Bureau
  • Work Experience: 1-2 years
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Knowledge: Ability to fabricate without drawings; additional certifications: Forklift Operator and Crane/Rigging; basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office.
