| Detailed description: |
In partnership with management, establish and facilitate an environment of positive associate relations. This will include handling associate complaints, assisting in terminations, conflict resolution, career counseling and implementation of company associate relations policies and sharing information with both managers and associates Responsible for ensuring the company disability/work accommodation processes are followed; coaches and builds awareness of program with Business Unit managers and associates Partner with the National Health & Safety Manager in ensuring H&S processes are in place and adhered to Provide front-line associate relations support to the workforce and assist in problem resolution. CoachManagers on maintaining a positive associate relations culture Partners with the National Recruitment Team to ensure all open positions within the Business Unit are filled in a timely manner; assists in the recruitment process, including interviewing, as required Assists with coordination and implementation of the salaried annual and mid year performance development review, including on going training of associates. Preparations, coordination, communication, facilitation, follow up and trend analysis for both annual and Mid Year Process Acts as a liaison between associates and the Benefit Shared Services team to resolve problems and clarify benefits as required; partners with the Benefits Shared Service Team on the annual benefit open enrollment process; answers routine benefit questions for associates as required Implement the annual associate engagement survey process. Analyze results from the annual survey, and suggest activities designed to increase associate engagement in those areas requiring improvement May be required to assist in developing, extracting, and maintaining key human resource metrics and other workforce management data such as turnover, recruitment costs, training etc. Works with human resource management team to assist with the planning, communicating, and tracking of company-wide initiatives throughout the year Manages human resources administration to ensure the effective implementation of all associate changes and ensures the associate files are maintained Support special projects as required |

University Degree/Post Secondary Education required
Working towards or completed Certificate/Degree in Human Resources Management is an asset
3-5 years previous progressive experience in Human resources required in the areas of recruiting, training and employee relations
Working Knowledge of Employment Standards Act, Health and Safety Legislation and other employment Legislation
Experience in PeopleSoft applications would be considered an asset
Well developed Computer Knowledge and experience with Excel, Word, Access and Outlook
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality |
