Reporting to the Director of Employment and Training, the Senior Tourism Development Officer performs all tasks related to the elaboration, the development, the implementation and the coordination of the Regional Tourism Plan. The Senior Tourism Development Officer provides the KRG with information and recommendations relative to the development of policies and programs related to tourism and coordinate the planning of tourism development and training activities. The chosen candidate will be responsible for: • Elaborate Regional Tourism Development Strategies and Priorities; • Develop and maintain a single window approach for tourism development programs; • Support new and existing tourism operators in the development of new products and services as well as in the strengthening of existing products and services; • Support and provide regional organizations with information on available programs and resources; • Facilitate the accreditation of tourism operators and products; • Act as a liaison between KRG, provincial and federal departments and organizations involved with tourism;; • Provide uniform information to operators and communities; • Provide coordination and information concerning funding and investments; • Develop and maintain contacts within the various departments involved in tourism training, hospitality, infrastructure, marketing and development; • Plan, coordinate and implement tourism development and related activities; • Recommend projects for funding; • Implement community tourism and training projects related to the Nunavik National Parks; • Initiate training plans and maintain training programs in the tourism sector; • Support regional and community tourism organizations and associations; • Support the planning and strategy development and activities of regional and local organizations. |

JOB OPPORTUNITY INTERNAL / EXTERNAL POSTING The Kativik Regional Government (KRG), which has its main office in Kuujjuaq, is looking for a dynamic, reliable and autonomous person to work in the capacity of: Senior Tourism Development Officer PERMANENT/ FULL TIME POSITION 35 HOURS WEEKLY Reporting to the Director of Employment and Training, the Senior Tourism Development Officer performs all tasks related to the elaboration, the development, the implementation and the coordination of the Regional Tourism Plan. The selected candidate must: • Possess a Bachelor’s degree, exceptional relevant work experience will also be considered; • Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in the tourism sector; • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English and French, knowledge of Inuttitut is an asset; • Working experience of Microsoft Office suite; • Excellent interpersonal skills; • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
