Your Opportunity

We are looking for a Manager to join our Indirect Tax Team for Eastern Canada that includes support to our offices in the province of Québec, Ottawa and the Atlantic region. The position reports to the Montreal office but is part of the Indirect Tax team on a national level. This position is a great opportunity to be part of our growth and success. The ideal candidate will own the following responsibilities:

  • Provide Indirect Tax support to colleagues and clients in relation to Goods & Services Tax/Harmonized Sales Tax, and provincial-level sales taxes in Quebec, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Experience with carbon taxes, Luxury Tax and Underused Housing Tax is an asset
  • Research Indirect Tax issues and prepare correspondence and related client deliverables
  • Assist with the preparation and review Indirect Tax compliance for clients
  • Liaise with tax authorities on Indirect Tax matters for clients
  • Assist with tax authority examinations, audits, and voluntary disclosures as they relate to Indirect Taxes
  • Provide assistance to senior managers, directors and partners with billings, accounts receivable and client onboarding procedures
  • Assist with the coaching and development of junior team members
  • Identify opportunities to assist colleagues and clients with Indirect Taxes
  • Remain up to date with all legislation pertaining to Indirect Taxes

Your experience and education

  • A CPA/CMA/CGA designation is preferred but not required
  • You hold, or are in the process of obtaining CPA Canada's "In-Depth Tax Course"
  • You have at least three years' experience in indirect tax
  • You value teamwork, client service, and quality in detailed work
  • You display strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills
