• Ensure farm safety procedures are followed by workers • Maintain quality control of crops • Check and monitor for pests such as worms, moths, and rats, etc. • Watch for poorly drained areas in the field • Sample berries from each field to assess fruit rot levels • Monitor for weeds and control as needed • Supervise the growing and harvesting operations of the fruits & vegetables • Supervise and maintenance of machinery equipment and supplies • Organize planting, cultivating, and crop harvesting activities • May perform general farm duties when required Skills: • Heavy lifting required • Ability to work long hours, early mornings, and weekends required • Job conditions include repetitive and physically demanding tasks • Ability to work outdoors in ALL weather conditions Additional: Accommodation will be provided at a rate of $30/week Health insurance covered by the employer until the worker is covered by the appropriate provincial health insurance plan.
