Working with Trylon’s Field Services team our Tower Riggers perform all required duties associated with the installation of communication towers, accessories, and antenna systems on towers and rooftops. We have several IMMEDIATE openings for Riggers, Lead Hands and Foremen. These roles are 100% based in the field with offices located in Elmira, Ontario, Calgary, Alberta and Langley, B.C. with travel within the province. Our ideal candidate has 2 – 5 years of rigging experience with valid climbing certification. LOCATIONS: Ontario, British Columbia and Alberta for immediate projects, work spanning across Canada. DAY TO DAY INCLUDES: Install various antenna, antenna mounts and transmission lines along with ancillary equipment on communication structures and rooftops. Assembling and installation of various types of antennas, running all transmission lines up the tower. installing connectors on transmission lines along with hoisting grips, hangers and ground kits, adjusting antennas on tower with the correct azimuth and tilts, and performing microwave antenna alignment. Install various ancillary items on a communication tower including: wave-guide bridge for transmission lines. ice guards on tower to protect dishes, anti-climbs and fall arrest systems, lighting systems, and grounding systems. Ensure that all company equipment is well maintained and in safe operating condition, conduct inventory inspections and sort received materials on site. Identify and select cables, ropes, blocks and tackle by weight and size of load to be moved. Perform plumb and tension operation on guyed structures. REQUIRED SKILLS: 4-5 years’ experience with tower erection, antenna and transmission line systems, with OTDR experience. Valid driver’s license and Canadian passport is required with the ability to travel across Central Canada. High school diploma required. Ability to understand the principle of tower erection (both self-supporting and guyed structures), and familiar with tower foundation, installation, erection, antenna and transmission line systems. Must be able to read blue print and assembly drawings. Successful completion of Fall Protection and High Angle Rescue Training considered an asset, however complete training will be provided by Trylon. Working knowledge of fall protection practices and procedures. Working knowledge of winch operations and ability to read winch and gin pole load charts. Familiar with gin pole working procedures. This role requires heavy lifting, manual dexterity and proficient use of installation tools. Must be comfortable working at heights of up to 500 feet and greater, handling tools.
