Education: Some high school Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Driver's Licence (Class 1 or A), Driver's Licence (Class 3 or D), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, Air Brake Adjustment CertificateExperience: Will train Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write EnglishType of Trucking and Equipment: Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles) Type of Travel: Local Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Maintenance and repair reports, Trip reports, Accident or incident reports Communication Equipment Experience: Cellular phone Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) Specific Skills: Operate and drive Front End, Roll Off or Rear Load Disposal trucks to transport goods and materials, Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo, Use atlases and other trip planning aids, Receive and relay information to central dispatcher, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, Perform brake adjustments, Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness Additional Skills: Professionalism in customer service Security and Safety: Driving record check (abstract), Drug test Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, Own vehicle, Valid driver's licence Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Significant use of memory Other: To operate a Front End truck or Roll Off Disposal truck. Current driver's abstract Not older than 2 weeks is a condition of employment. Wage is $27/ hr. for Roll Off Truck and Rear Load Truck ONLY Starting Wage for Front End Truck is $29/hr. and $30/hr. after 3 months.
