TECHNICAL REPRESENTATIVE Kelowna, BC / Permanent position Position No.: YV-53 YOUR MISSION Under the supervision of the Operations Supervisor, you will be mainly responsible for performing inspections, testing, and maintenance on sprinkler, fire alarm, and special hazards systems, along with estimating and selling contracts. You will also respond to service calls from customers, and provide training to clients and peers when necessary. Among other things, your responsibilities will be to: • Meet with clients to identify their needs in terms of fire protection systems; • Prepare work estimates and follow-up on quotations; • Perform inspection, service and troubleshooting of existing fire protection, special fire suppression and fire alarm systems; • Provide technical support for upgrades, repairs, additions of improvement to systems following new installation and inspection; • Prepare inspection and deficiencies reports in a timely manner; • Respond to emergency calls during evenings and weekends, on a rotational basis. Work area: You will be based in Kelowna and servicing the Okanagan Valley. YOUR CONTRIBUTION Working within a team of inspection technicians, your work will help the company to adequately meet his clients’ expectations and you will guarantee them the security of their fire systems. YOUR QUALIFICATIONS • 5 years of experience in one or more of the fire protection industry disciplines; • Completion of preliminary courses towards ASTTBC Certification (mandatory); • CFAA Certification and/or ASTTBC Stamp/Seal in Fire Extinguishers, Emergency Lighting, Fire Alarm, Water-Based Fire Protection Systems, Special Fire Suppression Systems, etc. (an asset); • Certified by BCWWA - Backflow Assembly Tester Certification (an asset); • Strong fundamentals in electronics/electricity or Fire Science Technology; • Knowledge of Notifier products (an asset); • Aptitude for mechanical and electrical/electronic troubleshooting; • Valid driver's licence (mandatory); • Ability to work well independently and strong customer service skills; • A candidate with experience will be privilege but we are ready to train a promising candidate with team spirit.
