Main functions:
Under minimal supervision, load, unload, and move materials within or near yard, shop, and/or warehouse. Recognize materials and saw to customer and/or job specifications. Perform an array of functions that may include receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Follows written and oral instructions as given. Operate loading and unloading equipment in a safe and responsible manner. Verifies material against job traveler by sight and/or measurement. Operate horizontal band saws and blade recognition with various materials Track jobs completed through work area and staging of material for corresponding jobs Ability to read and understand drawings Remove chip materials from shop area to scrap bins as needed. Detail oriented. Assist shipping and receiving unloading trucks and checking in merchandise Prepares orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in delivery area Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to organizational standards May also assist in counting of physical inventory Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping pallet area, and work stations neat, organized and free of trash and clutter Wear the proper safety equipment Dependable and Reliable Inventory, Equipment maintenance, data entry and computer skills may be required Other duties as assigned by the management. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 1+ Years previous forklift experience (sit-down type) in a similar warehouse or shop environment preferred High school diploma or GED required LANGUAGE SKILLS Effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written in the English language. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to perform basic mathematical computations. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form PHYSICAL DEMANDS Ability to move or transfer products with a fork lift, or by hand. Ability to lift 50 lbs. when required. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
