Job Description FOOD AND BEVERAGE SERVER OBJECTIVE: To provide the guests with personable and efficient service of all food and beverage items in a fast pace environment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties include but are not limited to the following: • Greet patrons, present menus, explain how our restaurant works, make recommendations and answer questions regarding food and beverage items. • Take food and beverage orders in a professional manner • Serve all food and beverage orders efficiently. • Ensure utmost level of service is provided to customers –dine in and take out. • Present bills and process cash, credit or debit payments. • Ensure that the dining area tables are cleared and set after customers have left in a timely manner. • Ensure the dining room, beverage area and self serve food areas are always clean and tidy • Clean and restock glasses and cutlery before, during and/or end of shift. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS • Previous restaurant experience an asset • Proficient in math – calculating food prices for billing • Strong organizational skills • Personable and outgoing personality • Strong communication skills a must • Knowledge of mixed alcoholic beverages • Ability to think on your feet and multi-task • Ability to make good judgements and work independently. • Must be able to listen and take directions/criticism. • Strong ability to adapt to new skills and environments • Flexible with work schedule – able to work with last minute schedules/on call.
