This is a temporary position - 6-months contract . SCOPE OF POSITION: The Material Controller is responsible for material flow of parts and materials for the production departments. Typical duties and responsibilities include material handling, shipping, receiving, delivery to internal and external departments. SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Shipping of modules, shadow boxes, piece-parts, and commercial goods to vendors • Pre-receiving and receiving of modules, shadow boxes, piece-parts, commercial goods to and from vendors and updating of applicable files • Kitting of Common Hardware for required modules per schedule • Parts Issuing • Monitor priorities per the engine schedules and ensure “in time” material supply to both the production floor and the Accessory shop • Manage “Material Return to Stock” • Truck driving – transport goods and their related documentation as directed • Execute Marshalling and push-out processes per schedule • Engine shipping and receiving • Engine transportation to/from Test Cell (special license required for this specific task) • Perform general warehousing functions including managing empty shadow boxes and rejected material • Conduct inventory counts as required • Other projects and duties as required (multi-tasking), and must have the ability to effectively carry out the duties of the position with a minimum of supervision • Must be able to lift and carry heavy parts and tooling short distances QUALIFICATIONS: • Minimum Grade 12 education • Minimum typing speed of twenty (20) words per minute • Possess a valid Provincial Class 5 Driver’s license • Working knowledge of the standards, practices, methods, materials and equipment used in providing material handling and delivery services • Certified (and recertification required) receiving procedures, shipping procedures, dan-gerous goods shipping, WHMIS and related MSDS documentation and forklift operations • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with all internal and external contacts • Proficient in Internet, Microsoft Office, SAP and other computer systems • Interpersonal Skills • Enhanced People Skills • Problem Solving and Decision Making Must be able to past a security background check. Qualifications: Education: Minimum Grade 12 education IT: Advanced knowledge with Microsoft Operation System Windows XP/7 Intermediate/Advanced knowledge with MS Office 2010 Experience with SAP functions/transactions and system (or similar ERP system) Hours of work: Employee must be able to work rotating shifts between mornings and afternoons. Morning shifts are 6:00 am to 2:00 pm. Afternoon shifts are 2:30 pm to 10:30 pm. Most shifts are worked Monday through Friday but some employees do work weekend shifts.
