EuroLine Windows Inc. is a manufacturer of high-end, high performance fenestration products; we manufacture and sell: European style tilt & turn windows, including Passive House certified windows Casement windows Inswing, outswing, and tilt & glide doors Folding doors EuroLine is a one-stop shop for fenestration products, catering to the residential, commercial, and institutional markets in Western Canada and the western United States. We are looking for a product engineer to join our team at our Delta, BC head office. Job Description: The Engineer performs engineering tasks like structural calculations, product testing and certification, and supports production, sales and estimating. The product engineer is furthermore responsible for product development and quality. The engineer is supported by a junior engineer and a quality technician. The role requires an individual who can resolve a variety of engineering issues, which will require a proactive and hands-on approach to problem solving and an ability to work with minimal supervision. Main Duties: Responsible for product development, product testing and certification Assist in design of production tooling Create component and assembly drawings in CAD Develop and implement Engineering Change Notices (ECN) Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Prepare and issue BOM's to operations/production Liaise with internal departments and suppliers Educate production department regarding new products and processes Assist quality technician in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action. Investigate issues and propose solutions to those issues Perform engineering calculations and provide answers and solutions to engineering questions from production, sales, and estimating departments Assist with building code related requirements Create models, drawings, charts, graphs and/or other tools to clearly communicate specifications to other functional groups Attend jobsite testing and meetings Field testing and troubleshooting support as necessary Experience: Engineering degree or diploma, preferably in structural or civil engineering At least 3 years experience in a similar position in production/manufacturing; window industry preferred Skills: Knowledge and application of basic problem solving and engineering skills (math, science, etc.) Demonstrated ability to provide sound design judgement and technical knowledge in a professional manner Innovative and creative with high 3D mechanical spatial visualization skills Ability to understand geometric tolerancing for machined components and fabrication Ability to use hand tools as well as larger equipment (training provided) Able to read and understand blue prints Strong attention to detail Soft Skills: Has the ability to organize and take responsibility for his/her own work Have a proactive approach to work and be good at problem solving and suggesting new ideas. Has the ability to communicate effectively at all levels Be confident and have a “Can Do” attitude A multi-tasker and a finisher Assets: Understanding of Lean Manufacturing / 5 S Principles Understanding of ERP systems There may be additional duties outside the normal responsibilities to be performed as needed.
