Snr. (10+ Years) Business Continuity Consultant to Design and Lead Tabletop Exercises for a Department Wide Business Continuity Plan

Main functions: 
S.i. Systems valued public sector client is currently seeking a Senior Business Continuity Consultant to assist with the design, development, and delivery of tabletop exercises to assess the department wide business continuity plan.

The objective of table top exercises are to:
  • Assess Business Continuity Plans to identify gaps, inconsistencies, vulnerabilities and other areas for improvement.
  • Evaluate steps and measures for initial incident response, and to restore and/or maintain critical services and critical support services.
  • Clarify and/or reinforce role and responsibilities for business continuity as stated in the BCP.
The Successful Candidate Must Have:
  • Minimum 10 years experience with Business Continuity Processes
  • A University Degree from a recognized Canadian Institution or equivalent
  • A valid Business Continuity Planning Certification (CBCP) and/or an Associate Business Continuity Professional Certification (ABCP)
  • Experience developing and leading a minimum of 10 tabletop exercises within the past 5 years
  • Valid Enhanced Reliability Clearance
Preference Will be Given to Candidates Who Also Possess:
  • Experience developing and conducting tabletop exercises within the past 2 years for different levels of employees within an organization
  • Experience leading tabletop exercises in a virtual environment (ex. MS Teams, Zoom, etc.)
Tasks Include, but are Not Limited to:?
  • Attend start-up meeting to discuss and review the department material to customize the tabletop exercise;
  • Create a Project Schedule to outline the project plan, with tasks and deliverables, and timelines that will promote clear communication to help ensure the effective and timely delivery of each project component;
  • Work with the Business Continuity Planning Group to establish goals/outcomes, design the exercise, scenarios and tabletop injects;
  • Design scenarios that target the threats, hazards, and vulnerabilities that the client is specifically concerned about and focus on the response, communications, and recovery
  • Develop tabletop exercise material and handouts in Word, PDF and/or PowerPoint format;
  • Work with the client throughout the entire process, from defining tabletop exercises objectives to determining who should participate, in developing and delivering the finished tabletop exercise;
  • Facilitate on-site and/or virtual tabletop exercises;
  • Prepare and submit a lessons learned (After Action report) in Word detailing the modifications or implementations needed to make a business continuity plan more effective
