Flynn Canada Ltd. is currently recruiting skilled Glaziers (commercial) to fill 5+ F/T vacancies in the Vancouver and surrounding area (19175 22nd Avenue, Surrey, British Columbia, V3S 3S6). Other locations across British Columbia will be required based on awarded projects. Short term relocation assistance offered in locations outside of the Vancouver region for the length of the project. The position of "Glazier" is a skilled trade role, in which the Glazier works within a team, reporting to the Site Foreman to glass and glazing products in commercial, industrial and institutional structures. Responsibilities include: ? Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine type and thickness of glass, frame, installation procedure and materials required ? Measure and mark glass and cut glass using glass cutters or computerized cutter ? Assemble and install prefabricated glass, mirrors or glass products on walls, ceilings or exteriors of building ? Install, fit, fabricate and attach architectural metals or related substitute products in industrial, institutional and commercial buildings ? Providing training to more junior level, less experienced workers Qualifications: ? Minimum 4 years' glazing (commercial) experience OR completion of a three- to four-year apprenticeship program OR Journeyman/woman certificate OR Journeyman/woman certificate equivalent ? Completion of secondary school diploma OR secondary school diploma equivalent is preferred ? Intermediate English skills Skills and Knowledge: ? Ability to work and communicate with others ? Ability to instruct apprentices and new workers ? Ability to work at heights ? Ability to learn and obey our extensive company safety policy Terms of Employment: ? Permanent full time at 40 hours a week. Overtime after 40 hours, paid at time and a half; ? $25.00 - $35.00 per hour, depending on qualifications (starting wage for meeting minimum requirements is $25.00, wage scale increases based on additional experience). Salary increase is dependent on annual review; ?
