Our valued Public sector client is in need of a Senior Business Systems Analyst to define and document interfaces of manual to automated operations within application subsystems, to external systems, and between new and existing systems.

The resource will be required to perform the following tasks, but are not limited to:

• Develop and document a detailed statement of requirements for the proposed alternative recommended in the preliminary analysis report
• Perform business analyses of functional requirements to identify information, procedures, and decision flows
• Evaluate existing procedures and methods, identify and document items such as database content, structure, application subsystems, and develop data dictionary
• Define and document interfaces of manual to automated operations within application subsystems, to external systems, and between new and existing systems
• Contribute to functional specifications and technical design
• Define business requirements and system goals
• Maintains system protocols by writing and updating procedures
• Identify candidate business processes for re-design, prototype potential solutions, provide trade-off information and suggest a recommended course of action. Identify the modifications to the automated processes
• Support and use the selected departmental methodologies
• Transfer knowledge to Government of Canada staff when required.
• Provide weekly status reports to the project authority.

We are looking for someone with the following, but not limited to, experience:

• Holds one of the following certifications
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or
  • PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA) or
  • Completed a two year post-secondary program and has a Certificate in Business Analysis.
• 12 years working as a Business System Analyst.
• 5 years developing nonfunctional requirements including each of the following:
  • Usability;
  • Reliability (e.g. availability, accuracy and precision);
  • Performance (e.g. throughput, response time, efficiency); and
  • Supportability (e.g. testability, extensibility, adaptability, maintainability, compatibility, serviceability, stability, robustness, flexibility).
• 5 years conducting Business Process Reviews leading to recommendations for process changes including new or existing business systems.
• 5 projects analysing and documenting requirements and acceptance criteria in a User Stories format to support an Agile development process.
• 3 projects of experience on IT Application Modernization and integration projects each with a minimum value of $250K.
• 10 years experience in complex business and system analysis work, root cause analysis and analysis for long-term solutions.
• 4 projects of experience in business process analysis, current and future state process flows and process reengineering.
