Aecon Utilities is ready to become Canadas #1 utility construction provider and were looking for a Project Manager to help us grow our Green Energy Solutions business! The Green Energy Solutions team at Aecon is bringing energy solutions for residential and commercial customers in Canada. This includes solar rooftop systems, energy storage, EV charging solutions. In addition, we are building solutions towards electrification of heating and cooling loads to reduce dependence on fossil fuels. For heating and cooling needs, our solutions include the use of air source and ground source heat pumps (including geothermal loops) and hybrid solutions addressing the needs in both new construction and retrofit markets. From EV charging to geo-exchange systems, we provide a range of green energy capabilities supported by in-house design and engineering, trusted industry partnerships, and proven track record of complex, turnkey delivery. All this makes us uniquely positioned as a trusted, end-to-end solutions provider in todays rapidly evolving market. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager to join our team to deploy EV infrastructure and integrated energy solutions. This opportunity will give you the access to existing partners and ability to build new partnerships to enable deployment of EV charging infrastructure across Canada. You will work directly with clients to set a sound course for EV infrastructure investment and work to ensure quality of work and client satisfaction through planning, construction, and operation. You will leverage the experience gained in implementing EV charging and fleet electrification solutions in practice to advise partners on preferred implementation pathway, and best program management practices to position assets and end users for electrification. The Project Manager is expected to work directly with clients to oversee public infrastructure projects, commercial, fleet electrification projects and residential programs. This includes the lifecycle stages from initial client consultation, to design, procurement, construction, and client acceptance. What You Will Do Here: Attend customer meetings to determine scope of work, design specifics, and potential risks Develop scope of work, respond to RFP / RFQ, engage engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders such as safety. Use own experience to develop construction budget, schedule, and produce a design-build client proposal Review client / vendor contracts, identify risks, and effectively negotiate a mutually beneficial agreement. Attend site, engage utilities, and work with the team to develop IFC design Oversee and coordinate all in-house staff, and vendors to ensure project is completed on-time, on-budget, and to the highest standards in safety and quality Manage change order processes, budget adjustments, and monthly billings Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency when addressing client issues. Display a keen attention to detail and adherence to deadlines. Foster and maintain good working relationships with subcontractors. Leverage your access to multiple trades/subcontractor resources to ensure project success. Demonstrate a proactive attitude and dedication to delivering high-quality services on time and within budget. What You Will Bring to the Team: Experience in working on construction projects as a supervisor including coordinating subcontractors and in-house staff Post secondary education from a construction, engineering, architecture, or a related field. Experience with Civil Works and / or utility design / installs Experience in estimating and design Direct customer relations, business development, and technological adaptation Understanding of contracts, proficiency in writing them, and familiarity with construction industry programs 10+ years of relevant work experience. Strong communication skills, oral and written. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Travel to different job sites when needed, with a breakdown of 50% from the main office/home office, and 50% on-site. Must have a valid drivers license.
