The Opportunity: We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Certified Heavy Duty Mechanic to work at our Houston Sawmill. The Role: As part of the Canfor team you will apply your knowledge and skills at our highly technical and innovative mill facilities. You will also: • Ensure safety standards are met by following Canfor safe work and lockout procedures • Develop strong working relationships with your peers and team • Maintain and repair mobile equipment such as; ?Taylor, Kalmar & Hyster forklifts ? Wagner log loader ? 966 H loader ? 988 loader ? Champion 740 grader ? Must have the ability to operate mobile equipment for test purposes The Candidate: You are an excellent trouble-shooter who has well-developed technical skills along with a Heavy Duty Mechanic Interprovincial certificate, a strong background in safe work practices and a desire to work in a team environment where shift work may be required. • Certified Journeyman • Experience with hydraulics and welding • Superior troubleshooting skills • Strong analytical skills • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner • Ability to work independently and in a team environment • Solid background in heavy industry and construction • Knowledge of Cat, Kalmar and Taylor equipment would be an asset, as well as knowledge of the lumber manufacturing process When applying for this role, please attach a photo or scanned copy of your Red Seal or Interprovincial TQ.
