Job title :OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST - LONG TERM CARE
We are presently seeking applicants for on-call and planned leave coverage for the Occupational Therapists working within the Central Okanagan's Long Term Care setting for Interior Health.
Days and hours of work may vary with most shifts scheduled 8 to 4 pm or 8:30 to 4:30 pm. This will include work during Saturdays and Sundays.
Long Term Care Occupational Therapists work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team providing occupational therapy services (i.e. assessment, treatment planning and implementation, program planning, consultation, equipment prescription and education) to clients and/or their caregivers. The goal is promoting functional independence and enabling the client to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes in a Long Term Care setting. Travel is involved in this role to areas within Kelowna and West Kelowna areas to provide occupational therapy services in various Long Term Care homes. A valid BC Driver's License is necessary and access to a personal vehicle is required.
Casual employment means there are no guarantee of hours and work requirements can vary between Zero and 37.5 hours per week. Once hired into a casual position, employees become eligible to apply internal on relief and permanent positions as they become vacant. Casual employees receive 12.6 percent of straight time pay in lieu of scheduled vacations and statutory holidays. Upon completion of 180 hours, Casual employees have the option of purchasing medical, dental and extended health benefit plans. ? Graduation from a recognized occupational therapy program.
? Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC).
? Valid BC Driver's license required.
