Your Opportunity:

As a Registered Nurse in Long Term Care (LTC), you will provide patient care services as a member of our healthcare team. Our LTC unit is composed of 29 residents & one respite bed with the unit being attached to our Health Care Centre. St. Paul, Alberta is located approximately 200 km northeast of Edmonton, located centrally in the Lakeland Region, with a population of over 5,800. The county of St. Paul is abundant with lakes & rivers, forests & rolling hills for the outdoor enthusiast. Renowned for the Iron Horse Trail that crosses throughout the Lakeland Region, quadding & sledding are family-friendly activities that span all seasons. St. Paul also offers a swimming pool, two arenas, a public library, fitness centres to keep community members very active, supporting St. Paul's motto that we're "a people kind of place." We offer organized sports, dancing, rodeo events, & music festivals. St. Paul hosts many different cultures, making it rich in culinary experiences. We embrace our multiculturalism, including working collaboratively with the Indigenous communities in the area. Please note, this facility provides Long Term Care (LTC) or Designated Supportive Living (DSL) services & by Order of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, many AHS employees are restricted to work only at a single LTC/DSL site for the remainder of the pandemic. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Preferred Qualifications:

Supportive Pathways or any dementia related courses. Non Violent Crisis Intervention. Nail Care. Previous charge nurse experience preferred.
