Nurse Clinician, Skin & Wound Care - Medicine (BH)
In accordance with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) standards of practice and the Mission and Values of Fraser Health, the Nurse Clinician utilizes evidence-informed practice to provide consultation and clinical expertise in skin and wound care and prevention that will achieve the most effective outcomes. Role models direct care skills to staff and students, performs identified complex wound modalities, and provides information and education to staff and/or patients/families. Participates in research, policy, quality improvement, and risk management activities. The Nurse Clinician performs their duties with a unit, hospital, program and/or regional focus and may be required to work at multiple sites across Fraser Health. Demonstrates expertise and provides clinical leadership in evidence-informed practice related to skin and wound care; reviews literature in specialty area, consults with experts, collaborates with members of the interprofessional team, evaluates clinical practice, recommends changes to existing standards to the Manager, and participates on regional and provincial committees related to skin and wound care practice. Role models direct patient care skills to staff and students in the area of skin and wound care and provides just in time education at the point of care. Coaches, mentors and provides information utilizing clinical evidence, policy (e.g. clinical decision support tools), literature and resources, and education theory. Performs identified complex wound modalities as needed and follows up on complex skin and wound cases. Determines education requirements that meet clinical and learner needs, in collaboration with the Manager/Director/Clinical Nurse Educator/Clinical Nurse Specialist; completes learning needs assessments of individuals or groups to assist in the determination of the learning requirements and their objectives. Develops and revises teaching plans on the basis of identified learner needs, chart audits, patient outcomes, and introduction of new skills/procedures. Delivers learner-centered education to individuals or groups of staff and patient/families through methods such as conducting presentations, facilitating groups, and providing lectures. Evaluates effectiveness of education programs and consultations to ensure skin and wound care objectives/learning needs are met and to determine opportunities for quality improvement. Plans and schedules education activities and maintains a system for tracking attendance; maintains statistics for reporting and quality improvement purposes. Collaborates with other practice leaders to provide leadership, consultation and performance support to clinical staff, employed student nurses and students to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care. Supports staff to plan and carry out patient/family education about discharge planning, illness prevention and health maintenance. Participates in quality improvement and risk management activities by methods such as evaluating effect of changes in practice, making recommendations to improve current practices, and conducting quality and safety audits. Arranges and/or provides preceptorships and mentorships for staff and students regarding skin and wound care, as appropriate. Participates in research and special projects; promotes staff awareness and involvement in research activities. Assists the Manager/Director by attending panel interviews, providing recommendations on the selection of new staff, and providing feedback on optimal use of budgetary resources as requested, including recommending use of wound care products to meet patient goals, promote wound healing and reduce time to healing and nursing visits. Assists the Manager/Director in assessing and supporting clinical skill and performance, as related to skin and wound care, by providing related input and coaching staff to help them achieve established clinical performance goals. Participates in the review, development, implementation and evaluation of evidence-informed clinical decision support tools/policies. Performs other related duties as assigned. Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Three (3) years of recent related clinical experience in skin and wound care, including one (1) year of education and/or leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Completion of post graduate course work and/or certification applicable to the designated clinical area (e.g. International Interdisciplinary Wound Care Course - IIWCC, Canadian Association Enterostomal Therapy - CAET, Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse - WOCN). Valid BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for business related purposes. Clinical proficiency/expertise in skin and wound care and prevention. Ability to role model direct care skills, coach, mentor and teach nursing skills that are compliant with current standards of practice and that ensure quality of care. Ability to apply educational theories and evidence to teaching practices. Ability to identify learning needs of individual or groups of staff. Ability to foster effective teaching and learning relationships. Ability to facilitate learning and create effective learning environments. Ability to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders in preparing appropriate learner environments. Ability to develop and utilize appropriate practice assessment tools. Project Manager, FMO
Responsible for managing the implementation of approved facilities projects on matters relating to infrastructure and equipment installation issues for Fraser Health (FH) including project construction management, project construction budgets and dispute resolution for extra costs from contractors. Directs contractors and consultants and supervises assigned Capital Projects or Facilities Maintenance & Operations (FMO) staff. Establishes project team structure and provides leadership to project teams on facilities projects by directing the work of the contractors, consultants and designated Capital Projects or FMO staff and by supervising the work of assigned Capital Projects or FMO staff ensuring the completion of the work is to the required standards. Develops and manages the project plan in conjunction with Project Managers, Facilities Planners and Manager, FMO for the onsite construction projects ensuring successful and coordinated completion of the facilities construction project. Develops and manages the project capital facilities construction budget and post construction budget requirements. Reviews drawings and specifications produced by external project consultants ensuring the efficient and effective integration of systems and processes with existing systems and processes; reviews project design and scope making recommendation as required. Negotiates, on behalf of the Employer, claims for extra costs arising from contractual issues with the contractor(s). Authorizes and coordinates systems shutdowns affecting the campus operations. Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements and commonly accepted standards including WorkSafe BC, fire, building, electrical and plumbing and all local by-laws and other related regulations. Liaises with project stakeholders and sponsors to communicate the project status and work activities affecting the campus operations. Provides guidance in resolving construction-related issues, in collaboration with stakeholders and staff; assists with the resolution of disputes with construction contracts/consultants. Provides assistance to FH during the design development stage, focusing on construction implementation issues and value management; assists the Facilities Planners and the Facilities Maintenance & Operations Managers in planning and implementing designated projects. Represents FH on matters relating to the construction and commissioning phases of the project including equipment installation; works in partnership with stakeholders and staff to develop project management and construction standards and procedures. Provides quality control in collaboration with advisors to ensure that the project meets FH requirements as set out in the contract. Diploma in Architectural and Building Technology or Trades Qualification Certificate supplemented by appropriate formal training such as a Building Construction Technology Certificate. Seven (7) to nine (9) years' recent, related experience in managing design, construction and operations matters inclusive of five (5) years' recent, related supervisory experience and two (2) years' project management experience within a complex healthcare environment or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. TÂCHES: - Recevoir et faire le décompte des marchandises destinées à la vente, telles que viandes et tout autre produit vendu par son département, commandées par le (la) gérant(e) du département ou l'assistant(e) gérant(e) et voir à ce qu'elles soient correctement mises en place dans l'entrepôt, le réfrigérateur ou tout autre endroit assigné pour l'entreposage. - Faire la préparation des produits de viandes, les emballer, étiqueter et mettre en tablette, selon les règles du département, les produits destinés à la vente. - Effectuer les changements de prix sur les tablettes et s'il y a lieu, sur les produits de son département. - Effectuer, s'il y a lieu, la rotation des marchandises en tablette et tenir propres les aires de travail. - Être préposé(e) au service à la clientèle dans son département. - Respecter les standards de salubrité gouvernementaux. - Porter les équipements de sécurité requis. - Nettoyer les espaces de travail dans lesquels il (elle) travaille et tenir propres les surfaces de vente telles les comptoirs, présentoirs, etc. - Exécuter toute autre tâche connexe requise par son (sa) supérieur(e) immédiat(e).
