Gifford Island Glamping / Bed and Breakfast is a secluded private micro-resort on Gifford Island in Mahone Bay where guests are invited to live the moment. To support our operation year round and strengthen our team in season (May to December), we are currently looking for a full-time year round Grounds Keeper/Maintenance Person. The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter with strong people skills who like us is committed to excellent customer service to provide an exceptional experience to our guests.
In season, the successful candidate will assure our guests are settled comfortably in their accommodations and that they can readily access our facilities, beaches or hiking trails or have transportation to the mainland as needed.
Year round the candidate will be expected to maintain the property and equipment and carry out small repairs as required. In the off season, this will require regularly scheduled visits to the island to check on the property and address issues that may arise including some forestry management.
The ideal candidate will be resourceful and skilled with hand tools and in order to transport guests by boat, must hold a Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC) and a valid First Aid certificate. The position requires completion of secondary school, excellent English language skills; facility with additional languages would be an asset.
This is a full-time year round position with reduced hours in the winter months and longer hours with occasional overtime in season.
