We have full time and part time roles available.

Under Pharmacist supervision, the pharmacy technician is primarily responsible for filling and verifying drug and prescription orders in compliance packaging.  The pharmacy technician prepares compliance and unit dose packaging of various drugs in a highly automated, industrial setting and checks the contents of the compliance packaging for accuracy. In addition, the pharmacy technician will perform routine support functions for the Central Fill Pharmacy. This position requires knowledge of pharmacy operations and computer systems, customer service practices and the ability to independently perform a full range of clerical/administrative support functions in an accurate and timely manner.

Section A - Specific Responsibilities

Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Verifies drug and prescription orders using computer screens/barcodes and visual means as a regulated pharmacy technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists. 
  • Processes drug and prescription orders using automated technology and manual assembly when required.
  • Operates computer automated machinery and related equipment in a continuous production operation to fill and pack drug and prescription orders.
  • Performs restocking of automated dispensing systems.
  • Examines quality of product and materials.
  • Documents all information required, i.e. production records, for Quality Control purposes.
  • Sort drug and prescription orders to ensure delivery to proper locations.
  • Prepare shipping and invoicing documents.
  • Assists with inventory control which includes ordering, maintaining and organizing appropriate inventory and packaging supplies to support dispensing activities.
  • Performs receiving and stocking of incoming inventory and supplies.
  • Conducts inventory audit counts.
  • Assists with orientation of newly hired pharmacy personnel.
  • Assists the pharmacists, as needed, to assure productivity and operational efficiencies. Maintains effective communication and working relationship with clients at all levels of the organization and business contacts.
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings as required.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as required.
Section B - General Responsibilities

General Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Works with the central fill pharmacy staff to ensure client-centered; safety-driven services. Participates in quality, self-review activities to improve personal performance and to identify personal and professional developmental requirements. Adheres to quality, operational and productivity standards. Adheres to company policies, shared principles and quality management guidelines. Demonstrates and promotes compliance with all program specific performance metrics. Participates in continuing education sessions as required.

Section C - RequirementsEssential:

Registered Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (please provide OCP License # on your application/resume). Work experience as a pharmacy technician/pharmacy assistant for 3-5 years. College Diploma, University Graduate (B.Sc.) or 5-10 years related work experience. The ability to plan, coordinate, direct and evaluate operational activities in a complex and busy environment. Consistently acts in a professional manner. Excellent organizational skills with ability to set priorities and creatively solve problems. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated success in working effectively and collaboratively within a team environment. Ability to function in a fast-paced, continually changing and results-oriented environment. Ability to identify and resolve problems. Exceptional attention to detail and organization skills. Good understanding of MS software (Outlook, Word, PPT  & Excel)
 

Preferred:

Graduate of a CCAPP or ACPE accredited pharmacy technician education program. Experience in a centralized prescription processing environment.  Experience in launching new pharmacy programs and/or opening a new pharmacy is an asset. Familiarity with compliance packaging automation benefits, limitations and interdependencies. Previous experience with pharmacy automation. Clear understanding of hospital pharmacy operations

L'agent en pharmacie devra aussi commander des produits et surveiller le niveau des stocks.

Section A

Responsabilités spécifiques

  • Créer les nouveaux patients dans le logiciel de pharmacie Kroll.
  • Saisir les ordonnances dans le système et soumettre les demandes de remboursement aux tiers payeurs.
  • Déterminer la répartition des paiements d'assurance.
  • Préparer et remettre les ordonnances conformément aux directives de la province et de Santé Canada.
  • Vérifier que l'ordonnance répond aux exigences et communiquer avec le professionnel de la santé si nécessaire.
  • Faire des appels d'assurance à trois.
  • Effectuer un suivi des autorisations spéciales.
  • Effectuer un suivi des demandes manuelles de règlement à des tiers.
  • Coordonner les avantages entre plusieurs compagnies d'assurance (tiers).
  • Surveiller le niveau des stocks et passer des commandes en conséquence.
  • Effectuer un suivi des comptes clients (cliniques, programmes, patients et assurance tierce).
  • Coordonner les livraisons aux patients (appels d'observance) en fonction des calendriers de livraison.
  • Résoudre les problèmes de remboursement de tiers.
  • Effectuer un suivi auprès des patients par courriel ou par téléphone (faire en sorte que toutes les questions d'ordre médical soient transmises à un pharmacien).

Section B

Responsabilités générales

  • Diriger les appels entrants.
  • Participer aux inventaires physiques des stocks.
  • Vérifier les courriels et les messages vocaux de la pharmacie.
  • Obtenir et traiter les paiements.
  • Forger et entretenir des relations professionnelles avec les fournisseurs de soins de santé et les contacts externes.
  • Effectuer d'autres tâches sur demande.
  • Respecter toutes les directives pertinentes, dont les procédures opérationnelles normalisées en place et toutes les exigences réglementaires applicables.

Section C

Compétences

  • Diplôme collégial ou universitaire, au minimum.
  • Au moins 3 à 5 ans dans un environnement pharmaceutique, hospitalier ou médical.
  • Disponibilité pour travailler selon un horaire souple : les heures comprennent un quart de travail de 7,5 heures réparties entre 8 h et 20 h pour répondre au volume de patients.
  • Ponctualité et respect des horaires de travail.
  • Capacités supérieures à réaliser plusieurs tâches simultanément, aptitudes à l'organisation, souci du détail et facilité à fixer des priorités.
  • Esprit d'équipe et débrouillardise, capacité à apprendre rapidement avec un minimum de supervision.
  • Compétences informatiques intermédiaires, excellent doigté au clavier et compétences arithmétiques élémentaires.
  • Connaissance intermédiaire des systèmes et logiciels (Kroll) de pharmacie (atout).
  • Solides compétences d'écoute et de communication, comportement professionnel au téléphone et capacité à traiter avec les patients et les autres professionnels de la santé avec tact et compassion dans un milieu de travail dynamique en constante évolution.
  • Capacité à travailler sous pression et compétences de résolution de problèmes.
  • Capacité à répondre rapidement et correctement aux patients en utilisant plusieurs ressources garantissant la précision et l'efficience.
  • Compréhension approfondie de la facturation aux patients de pharmacie par l'entremise d'un tiers.
  • Connaissance des remboursements des régimes d'assurance privés et provinciaux.
  • Expérience de la gestion des stocks dans un milieu de pharmacie.
  • Capacité à soumettre les demandes de règlement et à résoudre les problèmes associés.
  • Facilité à collaborer et à déléguer.
