Senior Business Transformation Architect to lead Business and Solutions Alignment for a major Application Rationalization Initiative in the federal governm

S.i. Systems' valued public sector client is seeking a Senior Business Transformation Architect to work as the Lead, Business & Solutions Alignment to further develop the business transformation agenda for an ongoing Application Rationalization Initiative, guide the horizontal portfolio integration through the development of cross-cutting process frameworks, guide the business process modelling work of others utilizing the client's established methodology, actively participate in workshops and engagement exercises, and provide stewardship of the overall Business Information Model.

Over the course of this two year engagement, the BTA will be responsible for:
  • Meeting with the Project Authority / key stakeholders to confirm their requirements and their vision;
  • Reviewing documents provided by the Project Authority in order to understand the client's current systems and processes, and the program's current state;
  • Meeting with key stakeholders to collect information on the as-is and to-be states and using the collected information to define the complete as-is and to-be states at the portfolio level, as required;
  • Following the client's established approach to define, optimize and standardize business services and processes as well as the system, technology and information entities, and recommend improvements as required;
  • Designing and delivering presentations highlighting the findings including as-is and to-be states, gaps and transition plans for both the business and technical aspects, and to facilitate workshops, as necessary, with the intent of communicating the recommended approach to stakeholders;
  • Providing knowledge transfer, coaching and / or training to DFO employees so that they can perform the similar work in the same or other areas of the organization, if required;
  • Developing and providing any material for the purposes of knowledge transfer;
  • Documenting the current business architecture and build a consensus on the proposed business architecture;
  • Supporting the Business Leads and Project Authority / key stakeholders with the overall program transformation agenda, strategy and related projects;
  • Reviewing the current state and assist in the development of the future state of the portfolio, including recommendations on how it will be managed within the department;
  • Providing continuous improvement expertise and the people change management support to assist the program teams to resolve process issues and gaps specific to the initiative;
  • Serving as a part-time Strategic Advisor, and provide guidance to the Project Authority / key stakeholders and project teams, on an ad hoc and as required basis;
  • Developing and refining the master data strategy for EFM SI Fisheries and other key business information; and
  • Providing regular status updates and recommendations for the Project Authority to present to program executive;
The successful candidate for this role must have:
  • 10 years' experience as a Business Transformation Architect
  • Experience on 3 complex Business Transformation projects for the Government of Canada or Canadian Crown Corporations
  • A recognized professional designation or certificate in Continuous Improvement methodology or Project Management
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver project deliverables and communicate with stakeholders in French
  • A valid Government of Canada Secret clearance
