S.i. Systems' valued public sector client is seeking an Intermediate/Senior Data Analyst/Modeller to support business and solutions alignment work for a Government of Canada organization by maintaining the Business Area Data Model. The consultant will be responisble for developing a data dictionary, data management and conversion strategies, data stewardship, and a bilingual data structure using SPARX Enterprise Architect.

The Data Analyst/Modeller will:
  • Support the expansion of, quality control of, and keep continuously updated documentations of the Business Area Data Model;
  • Implement bilingual data, and data dictionaries in the SPARX Enterprise Architecture repository;
  • Identify and document items such as existing manual content/database content, structure, application subsystems and connections;
  • Participate in portfolio project teams, as required, to support the Business and Information Transformation Architect(s), Senior Business Analysts, Business Leads and Project Authority;
  • Provide timely and accurate deliverables, under the direction and guidance to the Project Authority or designate;
  • Define and document existing interfaces of manual to automated operations within subsystems, external systems, and between new and existing systems;
  • Work as part of project teams on database structures and efficient use of data;
  • Review, analyze and advise on data conversion specifications and conversion strategies;
  • Support the Project Authority, Business Leads, project teams and end users to maintain and safeguard data;
  • Identify requirements for improvements to existing databases by determining users' information requirements and system performance and functional requirements;
  • Develop and implement procedures that will ensure the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of stored data;
  • Analyze and evaluate alternative technology solutions to meet business and application requirements;
  • Review, analyze and advise program on functional data requirements and supporting technology;
  • Support the BTAs, Business Leads and Project Authority with related workshops and briefings for senior management, as required; and
  • Provide regular status updates to Project Authority.
The successful candidate must have:
  • 15 years' experience as a Technical Architect, Database Scientist/Specialist/Analyst, or IM Administrator
  • Experience on 3 Business Transformation projects for the Government of Canada or Canadian Crown Corporation
  • Experience on 2 projects to improve service delivery and system performance
  • A University degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or Business Intelligence OR a Certification in Database Administration from a recognized vendor (Oracle, Microsoft, IBM, MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.)
