As an Investment Advisor, you will be responsible for attracting and retaining High Net Worth clients. Your primary accountability will be to determine individual investment needs and provide professional, customized advice to ensure clients' financial plans are on track.

You have strong interpersonal and communication skills. You are adept at making contact with a diverse group of suitable prospects. You have the confidence to build and retain relationships for the long-term.

Investment Advisors come from a variety of backgrounds. Regardless of experience, all Investment Advisors share a passion to build their own wealth advisory business.


Relationship Management

· Responsible for attracting, developing and retaining a network of affluent clients.

· Identify and initiate contact with a diverse group of prospects, building the relationship into a committed client relationship.

· Determine individuals' investment needs and provide professional, expert, licensed advice using the best services and products available to ensure our clients' financial goals are met.

· Provide constant business development activities, always acquiring new assets & clients.

· Communicate regularly with, and work collaboratively with your Branch Manager and their team.

Risk Management & Controls

· Ensure coordinated and integrated approach with other sales & distribution partners - both internal and external.

Work in collaboration with both Legal and Compliance departments.

Candidate Profile

  • University degree
  • Canadian Securities Course & Conduct and Practices Handbook (Candidates must have completed the CSC & CPH before starting employment).
  • A professional designation i.e. CA, CFP, LLB, MBA, CFA would be considered an asset but not required
  • 10 or more years' professional experience
  • 10 or more years of relationship selling and sales management experience

Knowledge & Skills

  • Highly developed relationship management skills
  • Superior interpersonal skills
  • Proven success in sales and new business development
  • Proven success in prospecting and developing a network of contacts
  • Extremely strong presentation skills, communication and listening skills
  • Previous entrepreneurial experience (with evidence of growing your business through various business development activities) is strongly desired
  • Ability to act with little or no supervision, and to act independently while relying on own judgment
  • Desire a "pay for performance" compensation model in which success is rewarded
  • Tenacious, persistent and driven to succeed
  • Enjoy freedom and flexibility to achieve financial success
  • Extremely client-centric
