Supply technicians ensure that all of the supplies and services necessary for Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) operations are available. They may be responsible for customer service, purchasing, inventory control and order management. These tasks apply to food, fuel, heavy equipment, spare parts, office supplies and clothing. This trade is also available in the Reserve Force (part time).

TASKS:

  • Manage the purchasing, warehousing, shipping, receiving, stock control and disposal of obsolete stock and equipment
  • Receive, handle and prepare items for shipment
  • Operate military vehicles weighing up to 10 tonnes and materials-handling equipment such as forklifts
  • Process invoices and prepare shipping documents
  • Order material from internal and external sources and purchase supplies
  • Deliver supplies and provide services to operational units
  • Perform recordkeeping, stocktaking and inventory control
  • Maintain accounting and financial records
  • Process and coordinate repair and disposal functions

CONDITIONS:

In the Regular Force, your work location is not guaranteed. You may be asked to work anywhere in Canada. Military personnel can be asked to work on atypical schedules. However, if you only want to work in your region, the Reserve Force may be an alternative.

The minimum requirements for enrollment in the Canadian Armed Forces are:
