Provider Search is a key driver in our DHS mandate. Available to Sun Life Clients in our secure mobile app and website and now available to all Canadians at, Provider Search makes it easy to find a health care provider including dentists, physiotherapists, massage therapists, chiropractors, and more. Health care providers have the ability to claim their page or create a custom profile in our network enabling them to share additional content that is relevant about themselves and their practices so potential patients can make a more informed decision for their health-care needs. Provider Search helps the health-care provider further engage and stand out to potential patients and grow their practice.

Role Summary: 

The Manager, Inside Sales will be responsible for 15-20 phone sales agents. This position requires an energetic individual who is able to motivate the team to exceed sales expectations on a daily basis. We're looking for an empowering individual who is flexible in their day to day activities but focused on developing the team through their coaching and experience in the sales environment. The sales manager will be the front line for customer escalations and sales agent questions.

As a Sales Leader you will be responsible for;

  • Attracting, retaining and growing world-class sales inside sales team.
  • Create a high performing sales team that consistently exceeds the expectations of customers.
  • Working with the Director, Provider Partnerships, and your inside sales team to driving growth through adoption of DHS product across the Canadian healthcare industry.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Develop and refine sales training programs and processes.
  • Develop and refine sales pitch approaches using feedback from Salesforce campaigns and healthcare provider feedback.
  • Listen to call recordings and complete coaching sessions with inside sales representatives.
  • Build and assign sales campaigns in Salesforce.
  • Define and engage appropriate team members in the development of sales and marketing tools for use by sales representatives.
  • Act as a liaison between the Sun Life Provider Search and the Product Development Team.
  • Execute on elements of the short and long term Business Development strategy for the Canadian market encompassing sales and servicing, focusing on traditional providers (e.g. paramedical, medical equipment and vision).
  • Develop and track sales KPIs through Salesforce, identify trends which contribute to strong sales performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve sales outcomes and efficiencies'.
  • Contribute to creation of overall strategies and go to market plans including customer value proposition definition, development of pricing models, communications plans etc.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to create and maintain cross-functional alignment.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and internal partners and act as a representative for Digital Health Solutions and Sun Life with selected providers.


  • Undergraduate Business Degree or equivalent. 
  • Solid background in business development with proven sales strategy development and sales execution track record preferably in small to medium business segment
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading an inside sales team.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand the need of clients and work with internal partners to shape and develop advanced capabilities that are required to meet the client needs
  • Solid understanding and experience with the digital market place and social media
  • Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills 
  • Strong negotiation, influencing, presentation and communication skills 
  • Ability to multitask and operate in rapidly changing environment. Ability to use iterative and collaborative approach
  • Understanding of Sun Life Financials products, services, is an asset

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted.  It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.  In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.  Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
