Registered Practical Nurse - Emergency Department - Regular full-time 2023-6497
Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, the Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) in the Emergency Department works in collaboration with the entire health care team, the patient and family. Responsible for primary care of Emergency patients. The main functions of the RPN include, but are not limited to: assessment, intervention, education and patient advocacy in the Purple (minor) and Orange (ambulatory) zones. The RPN supports the philosophy of Person-Focused Care concept and principles and the mission and values of Sunnybrook. The RPN works closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team. Qualifications/Skills Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario with no restrictions to practice as a Registered Practical Nurse RPN diploma required Current B.C.L.S. Certificate 12+ months recent acute care nursing experience preferred or recent RPN experience Successful completion of pre-interview knowledge assessment tool. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
