SMART™ Group Fitness Facilitators will lead approximately 3 to 12 classes per week for older adults in Waterloo-Wellington. Successful candidates will work collaboratively with host organizations to ensure the delivery of responsive and adaptive programming to meet the needs of program participants.

Training will be provided.

Compétences recherchées: 
Facilitators must:
* be available a minimum of three times per week (availability Mon/Wed/Fri mornings is particularly desirable)
* be available for 2 days prior to start
* have current first aid/CPR certification (or be willing to acquire them by time of employment)
* have access to a personal vehicle and possess both a current driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance
* be prepared to make at least a one year commitment to the program


Current VON SMART™ or CCAA Certification as a Group Fitness Instructor preferred. A combination of other experience/education will be considered, including:
* related education (PTA/PSW/Recreational Therapy)
* experience working with older adults, adults with disabilities or in an assisted living environment
* experience teaching group fitness classes for older adults
* experience teaching specialized classes for chronic conditions i.e. Osteoporosis, Parkinson Disease, Diabetes, Osteoarthritis etc.
* experience promoting health and well-being through physical activity

Current criminal background check will be required (including working with vulnerable persons). Pre-health assessment may be required. Travel throughout Waterloo Region or Guelph-Wellington will be required. Compensation will be a modest, per class fee.
